Being the daughter of the world's best entertainer, I have come to welcome the holiday season for no other reason then to have a great party. The holiday season boasts of a variety of shindigs that range from the potluck supper to the black tie gala. I'll take any opportunity to get all gussied up!
Aside from all the fancy clothes, no holiday party is complete unless you have great food. If you're the host, it could be a daunting task to come up with the perfect menu. If you're the guest, you anxiously await any sugary substance that resembles a snowman. Either way, don't stress! Just take these steps to ensure your holiday party is a huge delicious success!
For The Host:
Plan as early as possible to give yourself time to prepare. Waiting until the last minute to prepare your food leaves room for error and mishaps
Don't try to please everyone. There is no way possible you will have food for everyone. Just prepare a little something (not the entire menu) to support the major dietary restrictions; diabetic, vegetarian, gluten free.
Try to go with a themed menu. Old Fashion Christmas, Organic, all white, all chocolate, or southern. A themed menu could help you narrow your selection to just a few choices.
Solicit help from a professional. Yes this is a shameless plug but true. You can't do it all. Pick the items you want to prepare then give the rest to the pros.
Finally relax and have fun. Cooking and preparing for others can be a joyous task if you let it.
